Shopify Redirect Map Generator
Paste the URLs from your old store and get a CSV you can import straight into Shopify’s URL redirects. It works for WooCommerce, Wix, Magento and BigCommerce. Your URLs are processed in your browser and are never uploaded.
Your URLs are processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved.
Why do redirects matter in a migration?
When you move to Shopify, your URLs change. For example, /product/blue-bag/ on WooCommerce becomes /products/blue-bag on Shopify. Without a 301 redirect, Google and your customers hit a 404 page, and the ranking that old page earned is lost. A complete redirect map is the single most important step in protecting your SEO during a migration. More in our guide to Shopify 301 redirects.
How do you use it?
- Export your old URLs. Use your sitemap (usually yoursite.com/sitemap.xml or /sitemap_index.xml), a crawl tool, or your Google Search Console pages report.
- Pick your old platform so the tool knows its URL patterns.
- Paste the URLs, one per line.
- Review the matches. Check the suggested Shopify URLs, especially any marked “check”.
- Download the CSV and import it in the URL redirects section of your Shopify admin.
What does the tool not do?
- It suggests Shopify URLs from your old URL patterns. It does not check that the product exists in your new store. If you change a product’s handle during migration, edit the CSV.
- It doesn’t redirect URLs that still work on Shopify. Shopify only uses a redirect when the old path no longer exists.
- Query strings (such as ?ref=) are removed, and only the path is redirected.

Frequently asked questions
How many redirects can Shopify handle?
Shopify supports large numbers of URL redirects, and you can import them in bulk by CSV. Check Shopify’s help centre for the current limits.
Do I need to redirect every old URL?
Redirect every URL that has traffic, backlinks or rankings: products, categories, key pages and blog posts. Unimportant URLs (such as tag archives or search pages) can go to the closest relevant page.
Should I redirect deleted products to the homepage?
No. Redirect them to the most relevant collection or a replacement product. Sending everything to the homepage is treated much like a 404.
When should I import the redirects?
Prepare them before launch. Import them as soon as the Shopify store goes live on your domain, then check Search Console for 404 errors over the following weeks.
