EDGE Grant for Singapore SMEs: what it means for an ecommerce build
The EDGE Grant is Enterprise Singapore’s business grant for Singapore companies. It replaced the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) and the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) from 30 September 2026. It covers up to 50% of eligible costs for SMEs as standard, and up to 70% for internationalisation and sustainability activities, with a cap of S$100,000 per company per year.
Soodo is not a pre-approved EDGE Grant vendor. You cannot claim EDGE funding on a Soodo project. We are saying this first so that you can decide early whether grant funding matters for your ecommerce build.
This page explains how the EDGE Grant works, using Enterprise Singapore’s own published information, and what it means if you are planning a new online store. The facts below are taken from the EDGE Grant page and the EDGE Grant FAQ on the Enterprise Singapore website, checked on 25 October 2026. Grant rules change, so always confirm the current terms with Enterprise Singapore before you commit.
What is the EDGE Grant?
The EDGE Grant brings three earlier Enterprise Singapore schemes into one grant: the EDG, the MRA and the PSG. EDG, MRA and PSG stopped taking new applications on 29 September 2026. EDGE applications opened on 30 September 2026.
EDGE covers 8 business areas and more than 100 activities, including automation and digitalisation, business strategy, financial management, innovation, internationalisation, standards and sustainability.
Did the EDGE Grant replace the PSG?
Yes. Enterprise Singapore states that EDGE “streamlines EDG, MRA and PSG into a single grant”. Applications submitted under the PSG, EDG or MRA before 30 September 2026 are still assessed under their original rules, and approved projects continue until they are completed and claimed. No new PSG applications are accepted.
How much funding does the EDGE Grant give?
| Item | SMEs | Non-SMEs |
|---|---|---|
| Standard support level | Up to 50% | Up to 30% |
| Internationalisation and sustainability activities | Up to 70% | Up to 50% |
| Annual cap, all activities | S$100,000 per company per year, refreshed each 1 April | |
| Sub-cap within the annual cap | Up to S$30,000 for single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment | |
Who can apply for the EDGE Grant?
- The applicant must be a business entity registered in Singapore.
- The business must have at least 30% Singaporean and/or Singapore PR ownership.
- Non-profits, societies, religious bodies, statutory boards and government subsidiaries are not eligible.
- Other requirements may apply, depending on the activity.
How do you apply for the EDGE Grant?
- Find the activity. Check the activities listed under the EDGE Grant on the Enterprise Singapore website, or use the BizSG recommender.
- Apply before you start or pay. If work has started, or you have paid a supplier (including a deposit) before you submit, the application counts as retrospective and is not supported.
- Submit through the Business Grants Portal. Only staff with the Corppass Business Grants Portal Preparer or Acceptor role can submit. A vendor cannot apply for you.
- Claim after completion. EDGE is paid as a reimbursement. You submit a claim once the activity is completed and fully paid.
For single-function digital solutions, Enterprise Singapore describes the support as being for “pre-approved digital solutions designed for specific functions”. That means the solution, and the vendor that sells it, must be on the approved list.
Does the EDGE Grant cover an ecommerce website build?
We could not confirm this from Enterprise Singapore’s published information. When we checked, the EDGE pages did not name ecommerce website builds as an activity, and the list of pre-approved single-function solutions did not show any listings. If you want grant funding for an online store, check the activity list on the Enterprise Singapore website or book a session with an Enterprise Singapore advisor before you sign with any vendor.
What this means if you are choosing a Shopify agency
Soodo is not a pre-approved EDGE Grant vendor, so EDGE funding cannot be used on a Soodo build, revamp or migration.
If grant funding is the deciding factor for your project, choose a vendor whose solution is pre-approved under the EDGE Grant, and confirm the approval with Enterprise Singapore before you pay anything.
If grant funding is not the deciding factor, here is what Soodo offers instead:
- Clear starting prices. New Shopify stores from SGD 4,500, revamps from SGD 1,600 and migrations from SGD 4,000. See the full Shopify cost guide for Singapore.
- Stores built to sell, and built to be found in AI search. Every new store and migration includes AI-ready setup, so ChatGPT and Google’s AI Mode can understand and recommend your products.
- Founder-led delivery. Your project is led by Jessica Bong, the founder of Soodo, a Singapore Shopify agency for SME brands.
- A price range in a minute. Use the instant quote, or book a free 30-minute Shopify consult.
