A realistic first-year Shopify budget for a Singapore SME is roughly SGD $7,000–$12,000 once you add a professional build to platform, theme, app and payment-processing costs. Use the calculator below to get a figure for your own situation in about thirty seconds — it uses 2026 Singapore-dollar Shopify pricing and real Singapore-market build rates, not US estimates.
Every number is editable, and the “how it’s calculated” section underneath shows exactly where each figure comes from so you can sanity-check it.
Shopify Store Cost Calculator (Singapore, 2026)
All figures in Singapore dollars. Adjust anything that doesn’t match your situation.
Soodo starting prices; complex builds are quoted individually.
Singapore SGD pricing, monthly billing.
Estimated at S$55/mo each.
How is this calculated?
The calculator adds four one-off costs and three recurring costs, then projects twelve months forward. Here is every assumption behind it:
- Build and project fees are Soodo’s published starting prices: new Shopify website builds from SGD $6,000, store optimisation from SGD $1,000, and migrations from SGD $4,000, each including six months of WhatsApp support. The S$15,000 option represents a complex custom build and is indicative only.
- Shopify plan fees are the Singapore-dollar prices for 2026: Basic S$39/month, Grow S$132/month and Advanced S$531/month (GemPages, March 2026). Paying annually usually reduces these; the calculator uses monthly billing so the figure is conservative.
- Payment processing uses Shopify Payments’ Singapore online card rates on each plan — 3.2%, 3.1% and 3.0% respectively — plus S$0.50 per transaction. Using an alternative gateway may add a further Shopify transaction fee on top.
- Premium themes are commonly US$180–350 one-off; S$350 sits near the middle of that band at roughly S$1.29 to US$1 (July 2026 rate). Custom themes are included in a build rather than purchased.
- Apps are estimated at S$55/month each, mid-range for the US$20–70/month band typical of paid Shopify apps. Many good apps are free, and trimming the app stack is one of the cheapest performance wins available.
- Domain is S$25 for the first year, roughly the going rate for a .com or .sg registration.
Not included: GST, advertising spend, staff or freelancer time, and any Shopify Plus arrangement. For a fuller breakdown of what shapes a Singapore Shopify project’s price, read our Shopify development cost guide for Singapore.
What does the result actually tell you?
Look at the monthly figure first, not the one-off total. A build is a single decision you make once; payment processing and app subscriptions compound every month for as long as the store trades. A store doing S$20,000 a month on the Basic plan pays roughly S$765 a month in processing fees alone — more than S$9,000 a year, and considerably more than the plan itself.
That is also why upgrading plans can pay for itself. Moving from Basic to Grow costs S$93 more per month but drops the card rate by 0.1%, which breaks even somewhere around S$93,000 in monthly revenue — useful to know before you upgrade on instinct.
Should you spend more on the build or on optimisation?
If you already have a store making sales, optimisation usually returns faster than a rebuild. Improving conversion from 1.5% to 2% on S$20,000 of monthly revenue is worth about S$6,700 a year with no additional traffic spend. Our Shopify store optimisation service starts from SGD $1,000 and is designed for exactly that situation.
If you have no store yet, or one built on a platform you are outgrowing, the build is the right place to spend. See new Shopify website development for what a SGD $6,000 build includes, or read our agency vs freelancer comparison if you are still deciding who should do the work.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to start a Shopify store in Singapore?
Doing it entirely yourself, you can be live for under S$500 in the first year — the Basic plan at S$39/month plus a domain. With a professional build, a realistic first-year figure is SGD $7,000–$12,000 including platform, theme, apps and payment processing. The calculator above will give you a number specific to your revenue and app stack.
What are Shopify’s plan prices in Singapore in 2026?
Basic is S$39/month, Grow is S$132/month and Advanced is S$531/month when billed monthly, with online card rates of 3.2%, 3.1% and 3.0% respectively plus S$0.50 per transaction. Annual billing typically reduces the monthly figure.
Does this calculator include GST?
No. All figures are before GST. If your business is GST-registered you will generally be able to claim input tax on these costs, so we have kept them exclusive to avoid double-counting.
Why is my payment processing cost so high?
Because it scales with revenue rather than being a flat fee. At Singapore’s 3.2% Basic-plan rate plus S$0.50 per order, processing is usually the single largest recurring line for any store past about S$10,000 a month — often several times the plan fee.
Are these prices guaranteed?
No. Soodo’s starting prices are accurate as published, but every project is scoped individually and Shopify may change its pricing. Treat the output as a planning estimate, not a quotation.
